Physiological Response of Two Typical Plant Species under Combined Pb and Cd Stress in Bioretention Facilities

چکیده
Bioretention facilities reduce stormwater runoff and pollutants, but there is a concern that plants in bioretention may absorb heavy metal pollutants from runoff, which might impair the growth of plant species. To investigate this issue, containing various amounts Pb Cd metals was used as irrigation water facility. The low concentrations were 0.08 0.04 mg/L, high values 0.68 0.32 mg/L. content physiological indicators measured. chlorophyll (CC), net photosynthetic rate (NPR), transpiration (TR). results showed changes (CC) highly correlated with plants’ Pb. Low slightly inhibited Ginkgo biloba L. Ligustrum × vicaryi NPRs, effect more obvious at vicaryi’s NPR decreased initial 8.97 μmol CO2/(m2s) to 5.77 under concentration conditions. increased TRs, significant. Under stress, L.’s TRs reached 0.63 mmol H2O/(m2s), 1.30 H2O/(m2s). two experimental groups remained throughout experiment, no significant inhibition. study found did affect function species some extent. Different behaved differently facilities, not lead death Our provide better understanding development typical facilities.

Effects of plant species coexistence on soil enzyme activities and soil microbial community structure under Cd and Pb combined pollution.
The relationship between plant species coexistence and soil microbial communities under heavy metal pollution has attracted much attention in ecology. However, whether plant species coexistence could offset the impacts of heavy metal combined pollution on soil microbial community structure and soil enzymes activities is not well studied. The modified ecological dose model and PCR-RAPD method we...

Background and Objective: Urban traffic, while affecting human health, causes physiological and biochemical changes in plants. The aim of this study was to investigate the bioaccumulation potential of Pb and Cd and assess air pollution tolerance index for a number of plants grown high traffic areas of Yazd. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional, descriptive-analytical study was perfo...
